Our Choir
The choir at Universal United Presbyterian has between 8 and 10 members and is active from September to May. If you’re interested in joining the choir, please feel free to stop by practice at the church on Wednesdays at 7.
Meet our Choir Director – Amanda Staymates
Amanda has attended the United Presbyterian Church of Universal since early childhood and has served as both a deacon and as an elder. She graduated from Penn Hills High School in 2001 and Westminster College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music Degree and a minor in Spanish. Her Master’s Degree in Music Education was achieved at Capital University in Columbus, OH. She teaches general music Pre-K-5 and 4th – 5th Grade Chorus at Saltsburg Elementary in the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District. She is also a Zumba instructor and certified nutrition coach.
Meet our Pianist – Lindsay Hammon
Lindsay Hammon is a recent graduate of Duquesne University, majoring in Music Therpay with a minor in Psychology. She currently works in addiction medicine and has a music therapy intership at a nursing home in Baden. Lindsay likes to skateboard, see live music, and attend the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey games. She has family all over the country, in states including Texas, Virginia, and Maryland.
